We believe in Stó:lō — together we will engage in all things related to our journey towards nationhood. Join us season by season as we talk to Stó:lō, the people of the river, about S’ólh Téméxw, about our ancestors, and about our way forward.
The Stó:lō Signal Podcast is the audio component of the Stó:lō Xwexwilmexw Treaty Association’s independent newsletter by the same name. Our hosts are Theresa Warbus and Sharon Desnomie.
The theme song for Stó:lō Signal is “Oh No” by Apt Exact, featuring Tommy iGuess. Beat produced by: Magic Touch. Mixed and Mastered by: Nigel Lokeynote Berringer. Check out the video.
Guided by our S’í:wes
Season 2 – Guided by our S’í:wes
In this season we are celebrating our s’í:wes or gifts. What makes us Stó:lō? How are we connected to the land and waters in S’ólh Téméxw and to each other? We’ll talk to Elders, youth and community members. We’ll even delve into the oral archives to hear from our honoured knowledge keepers about our history and our future.
The Pulse of the People
Season 1 – The Pulse of the People
We have been in the treaty process for over 20 years and our work has led to groundbreaking changes in the way modern treaties are moving forward. There will be no extinguishment of our Aboriginal Rights and Title, the agreement will be adaptable and renewable over time and we will no longer have to take out or repay loans as we negotiate. In November 2020, the SXTA leadership asked community members to vote on the Stó:lō Xwexwílmexw Shxwelméxwelh, our Constitution, which provides the guidelines for our own way of governing our nation. In this season, we took the pulse of our people as we moved toward that milestone.
